00 Summary
The short version, before the details:
- CardCraft Studio has no account, sign-up, or login — there is no user identity to attach data to.
- No backend server. Your photos, collages, and cards are created, edited, and stored only on your own device.
- No ads, no analytics, no trackers. The App does not integrate any advertising, analytics, or crash-reporting SDKs.
- The App declares exactly one Android permission — INTERNET — used only to fetch a one-time AI model file and app assets, never to send your data anywhere.
- Photo access happens through the system's own picker and scoped media storage APIs, which don't require any special permission grant.
Section 4 below lists this in full technical detail, matching exactly what the installed App requests.
01 Introduction
This Privacy Policy explains how CardCraft Studio ("the App," "we," "us," or "our") handles information when you use our mobile application, available on the Google Play Store. CardCraft Studio is a photo editing, collage-making, and greeting-card design app. It was built to run entirely on your device, so this policy is short and direct — there simply isn't much for us to collect.
By downloading, installing, or using CardCraft Studio, you agree to the practices described below.
02 Information We Collect
CardCraft Studio is offline-first and on-device by design. We do not run a backend server that receives, stores, or processes your photos or personal information. The App does not collect, transmit, or have access to:
- Your name, email address, phone number, or any account/profile information — there is no sign-up or login system
- The photos, images, collages, or greeting cards you create or edit
- Your device's photo library or gallery contents, beyond what you explicitly import or export
- Your precise or approximate location
- Contacts, calendar entries, messages, or any other personal device data
The only information involved in using the App stays on your device — see Section 6.
03 Information We Do Not Collect
To be explicit, CardCraft Studio does not:
- Require you to create an account or log in
- Use advertising SDKs or show third-party ads
- Use analytics, crash-reporting, or behavioral tracking SDKs (no Google Analytics, Firebase Analytics, Crashlytics, or similar)
- Upload your photos, collages, or cards to any server
- Sell, rent, or share personal information with third parties — we don't collect any to begin with
- Use cookies or other cross-app/cross-site tracking technologies
04 Device Permissions
CardCraft Studio requests the minimum Android permissions its features actually need. The App declares only one runtime permission:
| Permission | What it's for |
|---|---|
| INTERNET | Used only to download the one-time AI background-removal model file (Section 5) and to load the App's own interface assets. It never transmits your photos or personal data anywhere. |
The App does not declare a photo/media storage permission, and does not request camera, microphone, contacts, location, SMS, or call-related permissions. Instead, photo access works without any OS-level permission grant:
- Importing a photo into the editor uses the system's own file/photo picker, which runs outside the App and hands back only the single image you select — the App is never granted broader access to your library.
- Saving or exporting your finished creation writes it into a photo album (named "PixelPro") on your device using Android's scoped media storage APIs, which allow adding new photos without any special permission.
The App never touches your gallery in the background or without your explicit action (tapping import, save, or export).
05 Third-Party Services
AI background removal
The "Remove Background" tool runs an on-device AI model (powered by the IMG.LY background-removal library) entirely locally on your device using WebAssembly. Your photo is processed on-device and is never uploaded anywhere to perform this feature.
One-time download: the first time you use this tool, the App fetches an AI model file from IMG.LY's content delivery network so the feature can run offline afterward. That download contains only generic model data — no photo or personal information of yours is included in or derived from the request. The file is then cached on your device.
No other third parties
Aside from the one-time model download above, CardCraft Studio does not integrate any advertising networks, analytics providers, social SDKs, or other third-party data-processing services.
Sharing your creations
If you use "Share" to send a finished photo, collage, or card to another app (Messages, WhatsApp, Instagram, Email, etc.), the App hands the file to your device's native share sheet. You choose the destination, and that app's own privacy policy governs the content from that point on — we have no visibility into or control over that transfer.
06 Local Storage on Your Device
The App stores the following locally on your device, never transmitted to us:
- Onboarding status — whether you've seen the welcome screens, so they aren't shown twice
- Theme preference — whether you prefer light or dark mode
- In-app preferences/toggles — display settings you choose within the app
- Saved projects — if you tap "Save" while editing (in the Editor, Collage, or Photo Cards tools), the project's data and a thumbnail preview are stored in an on-device database (IndexedDB) so you can resume it later from "My Projects." This never leaves your device.
You can clear this at any time with "Clear Cache" in the App's Profile/Settings screen, or by clearing the App's storage through your device's system settings. Deleting a saved project from "My Projects" removes it from this on-device database immediately.
07 Photos & Media You Create
When you import a photo to edit, build a collage, or design a card, the image is held in device memory for that editing session. From there, it can end up in two places — both entirely on your device:
- Tapping "Export" writes the finished result directly to your device's photo gallery (album "PixelPro") via local media storage.
- Tapping "Save" stores the in-progress project (including a thumbnail preview) in the App's on-device database so you can resume editing later — see Section 6.
Neither action sends your photo through or stores it on any server we operate. Closing the App without saving or exporting simply discards the unsaved edit.
08 Children's Privacy
CardCraft Studio does not knowingly collect personal information from anyone, including children under 13 (or the relevant age of digital consent in your region) — because it does not collect personal information from any user. The App has no chat, social, or user-generated public content features that involve interacting with other users or third parties.
09 Data Security
Because your photos and creations are processed and stored entirely on your own device rather than transmitted to us, their security is primarily governed by your device's own protections — screen lock, storage encryption, and OS-level permissions. Keeping your device's operating system up to date is the best way to maintain that protection.
10 Data Retention & Deletion
Since we don't collect or store your personal data or photos on any server, there's nothing on our end to retain or delete. Everything the App keeps can be removed at any time by:
- Using "Clear Cache" inside the App — clears onboarding status, theme, and other app preferences (not your saved projects)
- Deleting a saved project from "My Projects" inside the App — removes that project's data and thumbnail from the on-device database
- Deleting exported photos/cards directly from your device's gallery
- Uninstalling the App, or clearing its storage via Settings > Apps on your device, which removes all app-local data at once, including saved projects
11 Your Rights & Choices
Depending on your jurisdiction — for example, the GDPR in the EEA or the CCPA/CPRA in California — you may have rights to access, correct, delete, or port personal data. Because CardCraft Studio doesn't collect or store personal data about you on any server, these rights are satisfied by design: there is no account or remote profile to access, export, or delete. If you have questions about how the App handles data on your device, reach out via Section 13.
12 Changes to This Policy
We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time — for example, to reflect new features or legal requirements. Any changes will be posted on this page with an updated effective date. Continued use of the App after changes are posted means you accept the revised policy.
